Leviticus Cohen was nervous.
Mad-Eye Moody had requested his presence in his office. He knocked on the door.
"Come," came the gravelly voice inside.
Cohen opened the door and entered Moody's office. "You asked for me, Sir?"
"I did." He turned to Gail and said, "Merryweather, please file those reports with Mrs. Potts. Close the door behind you."
Gail nodded and picked up her paperwork and left. She knew when the boss wanted a private conversation and this one was going to be a doozy. She was half-tempted to eaves drop, but she knew what would happen to her ears if she did. She suppressed a shudder and made her way to the department secretary.
"Have a seat, Cohen."
He did.
"I have spoken with Chapman, and he is willing to let you continue to train with me a few days a week to assist with getting your wandless up to snuff. He has, apparently, inherited some of MacDonald's case load and doesn't feel he has the time to train you properly. Seeing as how I trained him, he feels that getting it 'from the horse's mouth' -- so to speak -- would be the most agreeable substitute. What is your opinion on this matter?"
"I would be delighted to train with you, Sir," he said. Honestly, he was very nearly scared out of his mind that Moody was going to accidentally kill him and bury him on the back forty, but he figured that this was Mad-Eye Moody, and that receiving any training from him would be beneficial to his career.
Moody smirked. "Liar. But I'll take it. Be at the farm tonight at 7:00 PM. Pack an overnight bag and bring training clothes."
"Yes, sir." He got up and headed for the door.
Before he got there, Moody announced, "Oh, and Cohen... The Forty Furlong Farm is in Gloucestershire near Toddington."
Suddenly, he felt as if some block had been lifted. He now had memories of a gravel driveway going off into the woods, and an old, battered flatbed lorry parked near the road.
"Mind the wards when you arrive. I shall have to add you to them, so do not cross them unless you are a masochist."
"I'll keep that in mind, Sir."
"See that you do, Cohen," Moody told him. "Verity shall be very cross with me if I allow you to become too injured before the training begins."
Levi grinned. "Yes, Sir."
