She was running before she'd really realized why. There was a loud buzzing coming from her mother's room, an alarm. It was an incessant sound, and it was all Ginny could hear as she dashed down the hallway.
Sliding across the floor, she threw open the door, eyes wide as she took in the state of the room.
Molly's heart rate was racing, her temperature spiking, her blood pressure in dangerous levels. Flying to the side of the bed, Ginny's hands hovered just above her mother, trying to figure out where to begin.
Just as suddenly as it began, the alarming abruptly stopped. Ginny's eyes roved the charms in front of her. Everything that had been wrong seconds ago were leveling out.
"What?"
Ginny stood there, breath held in her lungs as she tried to understand what had just happened. Her mind was working furiously, brown gaze darting from the diagnostics in the air to her very still mother. Her mother, who appeared to be no different than she'd been minutes previously.
"Heart. Temperature. Blood pressure."
They'd all been dangerously close to fatal levels, but now there was nothing. Nothing. It didn't make any sense. She'd never heard of anything like the spikes in vitals her mother was experiencing. In fact, her levels had been relatively steady the entire month she'd been in the clinic, unless they'd attempted to use magic on her.
This new development, the sudden onset of a systems only to disappear just as quickly as they'd come on, was baffling and unlike anything she'd ever seen before. She certainly hadn't learned about it at St. Mungo's.
Satisfied that her mother seemed to have stabilized, Ginny turned on her heel. "Theo!"
Summary: Molly's illness still baffles Ginny.
