Blaise had left the clinic early because he wanted to get a head start on his relaxing birthday traditions. He decided a long bath was in order, followed by some reading by the pool, and maybe some time in the jacuzzi.

He paused after walking past the main sitting room, before walking backwards and looking in.

"Narcissa? What are doing here?



She grinned at him and motioned the two house elves who were with her to carry on what they were doing, which was writing down measurements of the windows, floor lengths, and wall lengths.

Narcissa motioned behind her. "I'm getting all the measurements and details I need for your party tomorrow. I know I haven't visited in a while, so I decided to make sure everything would be perfect for my Blaise's birthday."

Blaise just stared at her incredulously.

"No. I am not having a party. No. Not going to happen. I'm going to relax tonight, tomorrow, and the day after, and celebrate the way I always do."

She would have pouted if she was anyone but a Malfoy.

"But, darling, everyone is home, and you have a wonderful girlfriend, and I was only going to invite a select few to celebrate."

He glared at her and crossed his arms. "No. No party tonight, tomorrow, or the next, because those are my nights to do as I wish. In fact, there will be no parties held here in my honor on Friday or Saturday or whatever day you're thinking of hosting a party on now that I've said no to tomorrow!"

One of Narcissa's eyebrows went up. "No need to shout, darling." She sighed in mock-disappointment. "Fine. No parties tonight, tomorrow, or the day after to celebrate your birthday, and no parties here at all. You've spoiled my fun. I was so hoping to plan a wonderful extravaganza."

Blaise rolled his eyes and started leaving the sitting room, intent on getting in that bath.

But he didn't see Narcissa smirking and motioning her two elves to head back to Malfoy Manor.

He didn't say anything about parties held at my manor on Saturday. Silly boy. Should have known better.
