Dearest B,

I know you hate balloons, but the elves had so much fun tying ribbon that I couldn't not send them with your gift.

I hope you have a wonderful day today. You only turn 23 once. I assume that since I have not received an invitation that you have decided to forgo the birthday party, which is just as well. I leave today to go to Belgium with Theo for a work related conference. Er... yes, that's believable, right?

As for your gift... it was hard to shop for you this year. I decided on something of emotional significance. Greece was the most fun we ever had together, the Byzantine empire was when potion making became a fine art, and the Horn of Africa reminded me of you.

You're damn right I'm not having a party. Narcissa was here yesterday with some of her party elves wanting to throw a huge bash in the sitting room main, but I quickly put down the idea. Have fun in wherever with your boy-toy. Oh AK me now

When is it ever hard to shop for me? But the charm and cufflinks are wonderful. The charm will match the bracelet Weasley gave me, and the cufflinks will go well with one of the suits Draco sent. And I can tuck the gift from Pansy in my jacket pocket. How wonderful that everything ties in together.
