River dropped down onto the black plush sofa, closing her eyes as she relaxed on the comfortable piece of new furniture. How they had managed to get the entire flat remodeled in a mere six hours, she'd never know, but at least they had done a brilliant job at it. It was nice and neat and she was getting a few ideas for her home as well. She was a little worried though, seeing as they hadn't seen or heard anything from Greg in those six hours, but he had to be home soon...

Greg shook his head irritably. The coffee shop had been peaceful and quiet- just what he'd needed this morning. His nightmares and guilt were slowly breaking him. There were so many things he should do and was thus far refusing to even consider- visiting his parents graves, contacting Theo and Blaise, even owling Raven. He just needed time that was all. Didn't time heal all wounds? He'd had five years of healing and yet it seemed he was back to the place he started from. He mentally cringed at the memories and concentrated on his shite day. The problem had come when he had gone into Diagon. There was no way that he could stay away, so the wankers who thought harassing him was a fine pass-time would have to get over it. If that hadn't been enough... when he was running through Hyde Park the skies opened and a torrential downpour started. He was soaking wet, irritated, and hungry. He unlocked the door to his flat, pushed it open, and stepped inside. His running shoes were kicked off and shoved aside as he pulled the soaking wet sweatshirt over his head. It wasn't until he dropped it onto the floor with a loud 'Plop' that he realized something was definitely different. His jaw dropped as he scanned the living room and finally spotted an exhausted looking River Montgomery on his brand new- massive- couch. "River? What are you doing here? Who did this to my flat? Why? How? LUTHIEN!"

What beautiful timing, River thought, stretching slightly before standing up with a smile. "Really, it was a bit of effort on both our parts, Greg, give credit where credit's due." She was quite proud of her work on the flat; she wasn't going to let him put all the blame on Luthien. "As for why I'm here, I'm your new personal assistant. I hope you don't mind too much."

Greg knew, he just knew, his jaw hit his bare chest. Luthien tiptoed into the room and hid behind River, peeking out all wide-eyed and obviously worried. It wasn't that he didn't like the flat. He did, in fact had he cared enough he would have picked out every new thing he could see from his vantage point. It was just a shock. His eyes narrowed as he shoved his sopping wet hair out of his eyes. "Wait, who hired you, River?"

"Your financial adviser, Mr. Addams, though to be quite honest, Greg, I wanted to help. I get to see you more often this way." Smile. "It's not a problem, is it?"

He shook his head and sighed. "No, no, does this mean I can send you to those stupid meetings?" he asked hopefully.

River laughed at that. "No, but it does mean I can schedule less of them for you. Or at the very least, tag along and make them a bit more interesting." Another grin, and then she gave him a once over, brown eyes sweeping over him. Her wand was in hand and she cast a Drought Charm at him a moment later, getting rid of the rain water still on him before nodding with a smile. "So, welcome home, Greg."

He chuckled. "I should go change and we can discuss this whole assistant plan. Sound good?"

"Sounds fine." She took a few steps back, dropping back onto the couch and snuggling into the cushions. "I'll be right here when you get back." The cushions were really too comfortable to move from.

Greg was still shaking his head as he hurried through the flat. He really, really liked the changes- especially the enormous bed in his room. He just sort of wondered how his life had spun out of control in six hours. He also wondered what could possibly happen next.
