Blaise was pacing his lab so quickly every time her turned he nearly fell over. His thoughts were all jumbled, but he needed to get a clear head because he had Bones coming in for an interview in 30 minutes.
Doing the thing he told himself he wasn't going to do, Blaise had left Hannah early this morning, with a note saying he had a wonderful time, had to be at work early this morning, but would see her tonight for dinner. He only hoped she didn't think he completely bailed and wanted her out of the house.
The fact was he had completely forgotten about Bones' owl until he had escaped to the clinic and saw it lying on one of the counters. It was an excellent distraction, but after the interview was over, he had no idea what he was going to do with himself.
He had never had a woman, not even his mother, tell him she loved him. Of course he'd had the women who loved his money, or his looks, and especially his performance in the bed, but never loved him for him. It was throwing him for a loop.
Blaise had no idea what to do now. If he ignored it, Hannah would have her feelings hurt, which would lead to awkward conversations. If he talked about it, there would definitely be awkward conversations, possible hurt feelings, and a few good hexes from Draco. Then there was the fact he was pretty sure she didn't remember saying it, since she was nearly asleep at the time.
He kicked the cabinets with a growl. Bloody women! There was no one he could ask about this. Narcissa would most definitely give him the wrong advice, Weasley would get all flustered, Tracey was still in North America, and he was sure he didn't want Draco's advice, because Draco's suggestions when it came to Hannah scared the shit out of him.
The more he thought about it, the quicker his breathing became, and he was sure he about to start panicking. One thought kept running through his mind, and it tore at him.
How do you tell the woman who loves you you're pretty sure you don't love her back because you just don't know how?
