Earlier Friday afternoon...
Molly tended to be a busy person. For years she had bustled about raising her children, sewing clothes, cooking, cleaning, baking and running her household smoothly and efficiently. What bothered her lately was that there just wasn't enough to do to keep her occupied. Currently, she was in her kitchen, having just finished making scones, and she was now working on a batch of Fred's favorite meat pies. She was trying, in vain, to get some weight on that boy, but she was fighting a losing battle. Singing along to an old Celestina Warbleck song on the wireless, Molly rolled out the dough on her worn counter top, stopping every so often to flip a finished piece over onto the growing pile and grab another ball of dough.

Alicia Apparated to the field near the Burrow, gripping the tickets for Charlie in her hand. Glancing over she could see the bull she and Fred had antagonized, eating calmly in the neighbor's field. It calmed her somewhat, to recall everything with Fred. She could do this, all she was going to do was drop the tickets for Charlie, an apology for Tuesday night, and an attempt at that friendship thing. Quickly, she found herself striding up to the door of the place she'd only visited once or twice before. Please let someone be home, she thought, but then, hearing Celestina's voice screeching, she grinned again. Molly Weasley was definitely at home.
Molly, having been alerted by the wards that someone had Apparated nearby, set aside her rolling pin and washed her hands quickly at the sink. Drying her hands on her apron, she walked out the door and saw a pretty blonde woman coming up the walk. As they drew closer to one another, she recognized her as Alicia Spinnet, former teammate to Fred and George. My, she really has grown into a beautiful young woman, Molly thought. Grinning, Molly hurried down the walk and immediately engulfed Alicia in a rather enthusiastic hug.
"Welcome, my dear. How are you?" Molly asked.
"Hi, Mrs. Weasley." Alicia hugged the older woman back. "I just popped by to see if Charlie was around? I wanted to drop off these tickets to my next game... Thought maybe he'd have use of them. But aside from that, how are you?" She had been rather taken aback by the enthusiastic greeting, but supposed that when one was used to a full house, it was lonely when empty. Having been an only child, Alicia wouldn't know what a full house felt like, but it was a fairly easy thing to imagine, especially since two of Molly's sons had been the creators of Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes.
"I'm fine, dear. It's so lovely to have a visitor," she said, still grinning rather largely. "I'm afraid Charlie's not here though. He's staying with Hermione Granger. Would you like to come in for a spot of tea? I just put some water on." Molly's eyes brightened at the thought of someone to cater to.
"Ah, if you're sure I'm not going to impose, then I'd love tea." Alicia hadn't sat down with her own mother for tea in a long time. With her father being a military man and sent out to the latest war that England was a part of, her mother had opted to join the base there. And Molly had the effect of putting someone at complete ease. "It feels like forever since I was last here. It still feels comfortable and homey, though." She had come for the twin's birthday in their sixth year, and a twinge tugged at her, reminding her of all that this family had lost. She forced a smile on her face, and it melted into a genuine one as she smelled something delightful coming from the kitchen. "Mmm, Mrs. Weasley, that smells brill."
"A friend of the twins' could never be an imposition, my dear." Molly gestured for Alicia to follow her into the kitchen and then hurried over to the cupboard and gathered tea, cups, and plates. "I just made some scones, I do hope you've brought your appetite." Setting cup of tea in front of Alicia, she went back to the counter to get the tray of scones, butter, and honey.
Alicia's momentary flicker of embarrassment over the fact that she had been a tad more than friendly with Fred at their dinner dissolved in the face of homemade baking. "You are a woman after my own heart. I love scones." She sighed and sat at the table, "I'm afraid I only just got back into contact with Fred... And Charlie, actually. We became reacquainted at the Leaky completely by chance. But your family has always been easy to get along with, so we became fast friends." Biting her tongue quite literally, Alicia stared at her plate. What on earth was wrong with her? She didn't usually pour out her heart to people... Except Fred... Maybe his mom is where he got that gene where I just have to tell him my secrets. Oh dear Merlin, I hope she doesn't ask what Fred and I do when we get together...
Sitting down at the table, Molly busied herself with her tea. "Now dear, you'll have to catch me up on what you've been doing! I read about you in the paper last week; it's certainly been awhile," she said.
Alicia flushed a bit, and then grinned, "Well, it's been a long journey. After the war, I went to India for a year. I loved it there, but home is home. So I came back, and had to go to Puddlemere United's offices every day for over a month before they let me fly for them... And then I got signed to reserve. It was a dream come true when I got moved to starter..." She took a sip of her tea. "My folks are both abroad, off with the British Forces fighting whoever it is that they're fighting... My mum decided that with me not living at home any more, she'd go to base too... I don't know how she managed to pull those strings, but she did. So I've been pretty much Nobby No Mates until I quit my other job at a Muggle Yoga studio." She smiled warmly at Molly, "That's pretty much all there is to my life. I've been catching up with old friends, and making some new ones. But I still mostly just play Quidditch and go to the parks and do my Yoga. Sometimes I sit for Dean Thomas, when he needs a model." She smiled, "But you must be so proud... Ginny's a healer? And Ron's rated as one of the best Keepers in the league... Charlie looks healthy and is doing well... and Fred.. Well, he's certainly successful with that shop of his. And... are you a grandmother yet?"
"Well, you've certainly done quite a bit and in such a short time! I've always wanted to travel. I suppose I need to get Arthur to take me somewhere exotic now that we have an empty nest." She smiled. "And yes, I am delighted with my children, they have all turned out so wonderfully, all so talented. I don't think there's a mother anywhere more proud than I am." Molly took a sip of her tea and winked conspiritorially. "As you asked, I will be a grandmother-in about seven months! We just found out that Bill and his wife, Fleur, are expecting their first child! I do hope Bill will consider taking a job closer to home so that I can be nearer to my granbaby, but that's putting the horse ahead of the cart."
Alicia grinned at Molly's enthusiasm, and drank the last of her tea. "Well, Mrs Weasley, thanks so much for the tea and chatter, I appreciate it. Congratulate that son of yours, and I'll maybe pop by Hermione's to drop these off. But I do have some extra practice time booked on the pitch... Gotta gear up so that I can help beat the Falcons." She stood and impulsively hugged the older woman.
Molly, hugging Alicia back, said, "Stop by anytime you want, dear, I really enjoyed our visit."
Alicia smiled, and nicked another scone with a wink. "I'll be back again, just for more of the food and company. Thanks again!" With that, she bounded out the door and with a soft pop, disappeared.
