In defense...

***Happened around lunchtime***

Greg was seeing red, literally. He had no earthly idea what Theo had been thinking. Dating Maeve would have been fine if only he'd not mucked it up royally. Her note had been near hysterical and definitely frantic!

When Theo opened the door to his office he was surprised to see Greg Goyle standing there. Gregory and him had fallen out of touch after they left Hogwarts. They were acquaintances yes, but nothing more, so him showing up on his office door was confusing at best.

"Hello, Greg," he said politely. Greg looked mad; he always wore his feelings out in the open.

"Theo," Greg snapped. "Just what the fuck did you think you were doing?"

Theo took a step back, shocked his old classmate's rude greeting. He had no idea what Greg was referring to. He had just said hello to him; it was a simple and polite act, yet he was angry. He had been angry before I opened the door, Theo reminded himself, trying to figure out what was the cause of Greg's comment. "I have no idea what you are talking about," he admitted, thinking it was easier to just let Greg say what is on his mind rather than trying to figure the situation out himself. "But would you like to come inside instead of being rude to out in the open?"

Greg pushed past him into the office, shutting the door as not to alert anyone else. "Why would you do that to Tracey? Why the ruddy hell did you hurt her?"

"I don't know what Tracey told you, but I hardly think what I did or did not is any of your business. I happen to adore Tracey. With that said, you can go," Theo started to walk behind his desk.

"The fuck if I will," Greg snarled, planting his hands on the edge of Theo's desk. "Do I need to remind you what happened to anyone that mucked about with Tracey growing up?" He waited, narrow eyed, to see if Theo needed a little...reminder.

Theo rolled his eyes. He didn't want to start some trivial argument. "What, may I ask, did Miss Davis tell you in the first place? Unless you'd rather skip that part and give me your little reminder."

Greg growled. He pulled his hands off the desk and clenched them into- proven- lethal fists. "It was hexes back then, Theo. These days I use my fists. Tracey is my sister in every way that counts, you pillock! Surely you haven't forgotten that much."

"Tracey is also a grown woman, Mr. Goyle. I'm sure she doesn't need you to come here defending her. Unless I am mistaken and she asked you to come here. Which I highly doubt," Theo added, unafraid of the man standing in front of him, ready to punch him.

Greg nearly laughed. "Since when are we all formal, Theo? And if I were you, I would wipe that 'I'm not afraid' look off of your face. You should be very afraid." He did laugh when Theo looked skeptical. "I've learned to fight with my fists. Now, Tracey doesn't know I'm here. I don't care if you tell her either."

"So you are here to defend her yet you don't want her to know? That's bloody gallant for a Slytherin," he retorted, feeling annoyed. "Just do what you are here to do so i can get back to my work, please."

Greg rolled his eyes. "And you were the smartest Slytherin in our year, honestly! Tell her if you want to. I'm here to tell you that if you don't apologize quickly...I will kick your arse soundly. Why would you treat her badly?"

"I didn't treat her badly, Mr. Goyle. I had to leave for my work. I had planned to owl her with an apology, but I think I am second guessing if it means I'll have to continue to deal with you."

Greg hissed in disgust and considered punching one of his childhood friends just for kicks and giggles. "Fuck it all, do what the hell you want to do. She's my sister and if you don't see her for the beautiful woman she is then...no don't contact her again. I want her happy and if you happen to do that then I will learn to deal."

"Who says I do not see her as the amazing beautiful woman she is? Who says I just don't want to loose my fucking job? Mr. Goyle, you don't know a bloody fuck how I view Miss Davis. If you did, I'm sure you'd hit me purely for being a man."

Greg laughed. Maybe, just maybe, Theo would be good for his Maeve. "I used to punch you for the pleasure of doing so, Theo. I'm done. You know the risk of hurting her again, don't you?"

"I wouldn't dream of hurting her. With or without a risk involved."

Greg speared him with a look that clearly said 'I'll kill you if you do' before he inclined his head. "We understand each other then. I'd hate to ruin that pretty face of yours." He walked to the door and threw it open, calling over his shoulder, "Good day."

"Good day, Mr. Goyle."
