Su sighed as she picked up her glass of wine and took a drink. She had been drinking more than usual lately.
"Su!" a familiar voice said from behind her, making her look around.
"Lisa! Amy!" Su exclaimed, happy her friends finally showed up. Lisa Turpin went to Hogwarts with her all seven years. Her blond hair was pulled back in a ponytail at the moment and she donned something she hardly ever did: Muggle clothes. Jeans and a t-shirt actually. Amy Colors was a Muggle herself and had known Su for a lot longer than Lisa. They had been friends before, during, and after Hogwarts. Su remembered when Amy found out she was a witch. The little girl had hugged her and both had jumped in circles squealing. Since then a lot had changed, but Amy still was there for her more than not.
Lisa looked at her watch. "We are only one minute late."
"I've been waiting longer than that," Su sighed, smiling slightly at her friends.
"Why?" Lisa said, sitting down with her glass of water.
Amy tilted her head to the side, looking at Su with concern. "You're normally punctual but not early."
Su frowned. "I just have a lot to think about."
"Oh? You have men trouble written all over you face, Su," Lisa said, leaning forward with interest.
"Have you seen Theodore? Nott was that his last name?" Amy asked.
Su rolled her eyes. "Theodore Nott is the last thing on my mind, actually. He's a git. But he claims he never slept with the slut."
Lisa laughed. "And you actually believe him? Well, you are right about one thing, Su. He is a git."
She sighed. "I do believe him. I don't want to, but I do. He was too sincerely pissed to be lying to me."
Amy's eyebrows raised with interest. "Are you going to try to get back together?"
"Hell no!" Su practically yelled.
All three woman dissolved into giggles when they noticed most of the restaurant looking over at them. "Sorry," Su apologized between giggles. "But Nott won't just leave Chi be and it's driving me mad."
Amy pulled back; she seemed taken back. "What? Well, you can't possibly expect him to just forget about Chi can you? They were closer -- albeit in a different way -- than even you and he were. You can't be thinking that selfishly, can you, Su?"
Lisa's mouth dropped open. "I don't think she is being selfish, Amy."
Amy glared. "She is. I'm sorry. I love you, Su, and I adore Chi beyond words. But you are being selfish wanting their friendship to stop. He was there fore her when she needed him; they developed a bond. It's not fair for you to want to break them apart just because you decide he's a git."
"Amy, calm down," Lisa said, placing her hand on her friend's shoulder.
"Amy's right," Su whispered. "She's right. It's not fair to Chi. It's not even fair to Theo."
Amy frowned. "I'm sorry. I know you aren't intentionally being selfish or anything."
"Can we just move on?" Lisa interrupted. "If Nott isn't your problem, then who is?"
Su shifted in her seat. "No one," she denied in a whisper.
"Liar!" Amy said gleefully, smiling again.
Su rolled her eyes. "I don't want to talk about it. Actually, there is nothing to talk about."
"Is that right? Who do you have nothing to talk about about?" Lisa asked.
"Michael Corner."
"Corner? Michael Corner? Isn't he your boss?" Lisa asked, smiling deviously.
"Yes. He also went to school with us, Lisa," Su pointed out.
"Well what's wrong with him?" Amy asked, ignoring the fact she had no clue who he was other than what they had just said.
"Nothing. Well, besides he was piss-drunk Wednesday night," Su frowned, practically pouting.
"Su, dear, tell us the whole story, please," Lisa said, raising her glass to take a drink.
Su sighed. "I really--"
"You do want to talk about it or else you wouldn't have been here half an hour early," Amy pointed out with a knowing smile.
"Fine! Fine, I do," Su sighed. "First we flirt while in the office. Then we meet accidentally in the Three Broomsticks where he is already piss-drunk. We talk, we kiss, then he says he doesn't want to do anything more."
"Why not? You are beautiful. Is he blind?" Amy asked.
"No. He says he just doesn't want it to be a drunken mistake."
"Oh. Well doesn't that mean he like actually cares about you?" Lisa asked. "The Michael I know certainly wouldn't turn down a woman unless he actually had a good reason behind his actions."
Su rolled her eyes. "But what about me? I wanted to shag him. I had no objections to a drunken one off."
Amy laughed. "And he did. Gosh, Su, are you actually telling me you would have preferred to shag him and have him not remember it than to have him actually show you respect?"
Su bit her lip. "Well..."
"When Amy puts it that way, I'm sure you can see why Michael might actually care about you. He might actually be worth more than a simple shag," Lisa interrupted, looking purposely at her friend.
"Merlin. I'm a fool. I got so upset. He sent my beautiful flowers the next day." Su smiled just thinking about them. "I owled him before I came to meet you two."
"Asking him to shag you Monday at the office?" Lisa teased.
"No. Though, interestingly enough, he did mention, since he was clearly drunk, that he had thought of shagging me on top the file cabinets," Su said as she took a drink of her wine.
Amy and Lisa laughed.
"Are you bloody serious? Be glad he didn't take you home and shag you, Su. He was clearly piss-drunk! He would not have remembered it in the morning!" Amy said.
"But I would have," Su countered.
"If he owls you back for a date, be sure to pick somewhere near your house," Lisa said, a suggestive smile on her face.
"Oh?" Su prompted.
"Well shagging on the file cabinets is out of the question, but perhaps shagging on your dining room table isn't."
Su spit out her wine. "You are delusional, Lisa. Shagging is for a bed."
"Oh, but Su, shagging somewhere else can be quite fun," Amy piped up with a grin on her face.
"Su!" a familiar voice said from behind her, making her look around.
