Justin had come to the Happy Hearth for lunch. He did plan on eating, but he was really going to try to get Hannah alone so that they could talk. He ended up somehow getting roped into conversation with Penelope though. Somehow he had agreed to help her and Jack move into Luna Lovegood's home this weekend. Justin was pretty sure the MacDougals would have that covered, but he was not about to argue with her.
He was also a bit concerned about this fit Hannah had had yesterday. Apparently it had happened not too long after he collected the bread for Lavender. Whatever had happened had put a slight rift between Hannah and Mac because Mac left angry yesterday and was not at work today. Well, according to Kristen.
When Hannah finally wandered into the kitchen, Justin was slightly horrified. She looked haggard. He was going to ask the girls to send her home. This was not good. Hannah hardly ever looked this bad.
Penelope gave Justin a look and muttered something about checking on the front.
"You all right?"
"No," Hannah said.
"Want to talk about it?"
Hannah spun on him. "Promise me you won't get killed. Swear it."
Justin blinked. "I can't promise that, but I have no plans for it. What's going on?"
"Lavender told me she saw someone die. She's worried about you. I'm worried about her. I'm afraid about Amos. He's not a young man, Justin, and to be doing what he is doing? Mac looks like someone is abusing her. She walks like I used to. She's not sleeping at the Manor, she's not sleeping at the Sticks. I don't know... Draco's crazy. He's going to do something stupid and get killed. Then Blaise will go mad. I can't..."
Justin pulled her into a hug and began patting her hair. He knew Hannah was a worrier. She could not help it. It was in her very nature.
"It's going to be all right, Han."
"You don't know that."
"Why did you throw a tantrum yesterday?"
"Blaise hates Theo Nott."
"What else is new," Justin said, trying not to grin. "Blaise hates a lot of people."
"No, he really hates him. All we were doing was talking yesterday, and Blaise went a little crazy."
Justin was smiling so widely, he was glad he was hugging Hannah and she could not see. "I hate to break this to you, Han, but Blaise is a bit possessive. If he saw us like this, he'd probably hex my face off. Or try to anyhow."
Hannah pulled back and looked at him. "How hard are you to kill?"
"Wh-what?"
"If someone came after you, do you think they'd have an easy time getting rid of you, and don't lie to me to protect my delicate sensibilities. I am not as delicate and innocent as you think I am."
"I... well, I don't know. I would hope they'd have a difficult time of it. Why?"
"Lavender's worried you'll be killed, and Blaise said he would not take a hex for you."
Justin stared at her, blinking.
"I like to think I am pretty difficult to be rid of," he finally said.
Hannah hugged him to he. "Good. That's good. I couldn't stand it if anything happened to you."
Justin kissed the top of her head. "No one's leaving you behind, Han. Not without a fight."
"I'm just so worried. All the time. I can't sleep right. Blaise is all high-strung right now, Mac is gone, and Lavender might be involved in something dangerous, and you know she'll try to go it alone again because the woman can't ask for help. I just... everyone..."
"I'll find out where Mac is going, and I'll have a chat with Lavender. As for Blaise, sorry, you're on your own there."
{SUMMARY} Justin comes by to catch up with Hannah. Penelope and Kristen let him know about Mac and the tantrum.
