Landing with a sharp thump, only a last minute reminder to bend his knees kept Bill on his feet. Scowling at the smirking woman in behind the international arrivals desk, he began to make his way out towards the entrance where Fleur had agreed to meet him. The tall redhead adjusted the bouquet of roses in his arms as he began to search for his wife.
“Bill, over ‘ere!” Fleur was waving, a nearly four month old Fabian strapped to her chest. “What iz zat in your ‘ands?” She rose an eyebrow as he bent down to kiss her the top of her head before turning to do the same to their son.
“I love how your accent thickens.” Bill wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “So whose house are we staying in tonight? Dominique?”
“Non.” Fleur tucked a bit of blonde hair behind her ear. “She iz not trustworthy as we theenk. We stay with Oriane. ‘Er brother iz with zee Ministry. So tell me, mon amour, are zee roses for me?”
Bill nodded as they stepped into the sunny streets of Paris. “Unless you think they’d be better suited for your friend?”
“Non.” Fleur shook her head, threading her fingers through his. “Zey are mine. We can get ‘er some vin or chocolat. Maybe the sweets then, yes?” She flashed him a small grin. “You are ‘orrible at picking out alcohol.”
“I’m plenty good at picking up alcohol!” Bill protested. “You just don’t appreciate a good bottle of whisky.”

As they settled into the guest bedroom of the Tasse’s home, Bill looked at his wife. “I’ve missed you,” he said as he wrapped his arms around her silk-clad waist, tucking her head under his chen “Come home.”
“I ‘ave missed you too and want to go ‘ome, but I am needed ‘ere.” She turned around in his arms, laying her head on his chest. “Soon,” Fleur promised, taking his head and leading him towards the bed.
“My mother’s invited all us over for dinner. I know she’ll be upset that she’s missed Fabian won’t be about.”
“We will make it up to ‘er, yes?” Fleur leaned over, kissing him on the lips. “I ‘ave now put our son down. I theenk it iz now time for zee adults to ‘ave some private time.” She raked her fingernails lightly over his bare chest, kissing him again. “Turn out zee lights.”
Bill laughed. “I couldn’t have put it better myself.” Picking his wand up from the table, he did as she requested. This was not the perfect of solutions, but like his wife had said, this needed to be done. And soon, his family would be back home, together again.
