Draco was sitting in the green room with Py when Ginny got home. He'd spent the morning getting a birthday gift for Molly, then the afternoon talking to Grammy Black, crazy old one-eyed bitch. He'd also read the mail, which was his usual custom, so he had news.
"Gin? In here."
Ginny hung her robes on the hook by the door, stretching her arms over her head as she entered the Green Room. "You hungry? I'm starved." She scratched at her stomach where a bit of it was exposed. It had been a long, tedious day full of patients with ridiculous questions and requests.
"I am. I have news though. Ya might want to sit down."
She looked anxious but sat next to him.
"You got an owl today. I took the liberty of reading it. Your brother is getting married on Friday."
Ginny's face registered shock. "Friday? Friday? That's so soon!" She jumped to her feet. "Mum must be going crazy! She got to help with Bill and Fleur's wedding, but with this happening so soon- Friday is Halloween! Fred's getting married on Halloween! Two days! Gods!" She ran a flustered hand through her hair as she paced in front of the sofa. "I have to go shopping for a dress, I don't think I have anything that I can wear to this!"
"I didn't say it was Fred," Draco said calmly.
Her stomach fell. She looked at him with uncertainty on her face. "Charlie? It's not Ron. It's not Ron. Is it Ron? Oh God, is it wrong? Did he take a potion to make him stupid? Susan honestly has no idea what she's getting herself into. I'm going to be employing my sister-in-law." Even through her slight panic, Ginny grinned a bit. "Susan will be good for Ron."
Draco started cackling. "It's Fred. Gods, don't do that to poor Bones."
Ginny darted forward and slapped at his arm. "Don't do that, you prat!"
Draco laughed harder causing her to hit him again. Draco grabbed her and pulled her into his lap. Py gave an annoyed squeak and jumped off of the couch.
"So I suppose we know what our plans are for Friday then."
"If you think I'm going to be anywhere else, you're severely demented." She pecked him on the cheek, pulling back to flash him a grin. "It's a little sudden, yeah, but it's Fred's wedding. We'll be there."
"I was not saying we weren't. I know you wouldn't miss it. I can wear my new black pinstripe."
"Oooh," Ginny said, leaning down to kiss his neck. "I'll have to get something just as good, then."
"Will you have time? I know you don't like to shop. I could do it for you."
She grinned against his jaw. "I'll make time." She pulled back enough to grin at him. "Though, if you'd like to join me in the dressing room like that one time..."
"I am no longer welcome in Madam Malkin's. You might not be either, so I'd have a back-up plan were I you."
"What are they going to do, throw us into Azkaban for shagging in a dressing room? I think Fred would actually hold me to a higher respect, were that to happen." Her hand rose to tangle a bit in the hair at the nape of his neck. "Don't tell me it wouldn't be worth it."
Draco shivered at the thought of her in Azkaban. "Nothing is worth going there."
Ginny had felt the shudder go through his body, and heard the change of tone in his voice. Her face showed concern. "Hey. What's wrong?"
Draco shook his head. "I will never understand how mother's cousin stayed in Azkaban for something he did not do without going mad. I did do what I was there for, and I almost didn't survive it. It took me years to get over that. I don't like to think of you there. Even in jest."
"Fine," Ginny said, not liking the serious look in his eyes, wanting to do or say anything to get rid of it. "Maybe they'd just throw us in a Ministry holding cell. Hey! Maybe we could even break that in."
Draco started laughing. "That would go over really well with Potter, I'm sure."
Draco considered.
"Let's go," he joked picking her up.
Ginny laughed. "Brilliant."
{SUMMARY} Ginny finds out Fred is getting married. She and Draco plan to go.
