And when she breaks down and makes a sound
Cho groaned as she Apparated into the kitchen. She was still in her Quidditch kit, and she was covered in mud. There was a rip on one sleeve and she was pretty sure she'd been bleeding earlier. She was also sure that she probably didn't smell like a rose. Practice had not only gone late, but it had also gotten rough. Her first order of business was a shower, and than a hot meal.

That plan was put on hold when she passed the living room and spotted Aubrey sitting on the couch. Crying.

"What happened? Is Dominic okay? Are you okay?" she asked, dropping to her knees in front of her.

"He-he-he left," Aubrey whimpered as a fresh wave of tears over took her. Her eyes were bloodshot and her nose was running. There were some women who could cry gracefully and still look good, Aubrey was not one of them. She could feel Cho's pulling her hands away from her face. "Remus knows and he left."

He knows? About... Cho rocked back on her heels and took a deep breath. "Okay, what did he say exactly? What do you think he knows?" If he knew what she thought he knew, then she was fully prepared to send an owl for her fathers lawyers. She didn't think he would tell, but then again, she didn't think Aubrey would have told either.

"We were fighting and it came out." Aubrey fell back against the couch, exhausted. After taking a few steadying breaths, she turned to look at her friend. "I was an idiot."

Cho honestly wished that she could say that Aubrey wasn't, but admitting something that could get you sent to prison because you were fighting with your boyfriend didn't seem like the smartest thing that could be done. "Alright, what exactly did you say? What words did you use? Did you actually say that..." She trailed off, not wanting to ask. Did you actually admit to killing your husband?

"I don't know." Aubrey pushed herself off the couch and walked over to the bassinet where Dominic lay. She needed something to hold onto, something to ground her. "I said I assisted his suicide with magic, but I didn't say how." The blonde began to pace, trying to be rational over her swirl of emotions.

Cho rose to her feet and paced as well. "Okay, we have two options." She stopped pacing and turned to Aubrey. "Number one, I contact my fathers lawyers, they're the best in the world. They do lawyerly things and this all goes away." She started to pace again. "Number two, we have Remus killed and buried somewhere in the Forbidden Forest. I'm not sure where we can find a hit man, or how much it will cost, but I'm sure we can afford it if we both pitch in."

Aubrey looked at her son in her arms and then back at her friend. "You're very lucky I have Dominic in my arms. Remind me to hex you later." A thought crossed over her mind as she got past the words 'hit men.' "You don't think he's going to tell, do you?"

"Well, I hope not." She collapsed onto the couch and crossed her arms. "What are we going to do if he does?"

"Go back to America. Live as a muggle. Run away." Aubrey sat down, trying to replay the argument in her head. "I don't think he's going to tell," she said in a small voice. "He was surprised to be sure, but..." The blonde trailed off. "I think he was more upset about other things that were said."

"Best not go to America. We should go somewhere with no extradition policy." At Aubrey's surprised look, she chuckled mirthlessly. "I listened in on a couple of my fathers less than legal business proceedings." She drew her legs up underneath her and twisted to face her friend. "We don't know that he won't say anything. Is he vindictive? He was upset over the other things that were said, he might go the aurors because of it."

"Remus is a good man. He's not vindictive or anything horrible like you accused him of," Aubrey snapped. She glanced at Cho. "I listen and compromise, right? I'm not someone who expects my way or the highway." At her friend's look, she sighed. "Americanism. My way or no way."

"Alright, tell me what happened. Relationship crisis first, then we'll work on the possibility of spending several years in prison crisis."

Summary: Cho comforts Aubrey after the fight.
