I will sell my soul for something pure and true
Ginny walked into the alley behind Healing Hands, empty boxes filling her arms. She tried to look around them, but they were rather large. She'd gone a little overboard on the Halloween decorations and candy for the kids. She still didn't really understand the concept of Halloween. Yes, she knew ghosts were real, and she was a witch, but the idea of dressing up in a costume and trolling for candy? At least she'd gotten a nice jar full of donations. She wasn't sure how much, but she was going to have fun counting them out.

She dumped the boxes into the extra large rubbish bin, brushing her hands on the skirt to her costume. As long as she saw an influx of children patients, the costume and candy would have been worth it, and the donations she got from the kissing booth made her feel happier about the whole idea. She made her way back to the front of the store, smiling when she saw Blaise talking with someone who looked rather business-like. She was more than content to let him handle that end of the business. She'd opened Healing Hands to get to know the patients, not to find investors.

She entered Healing Hands, pulling her hat off her head. She made her way back to her office, debating whether or not to actually just change. She'd only worn the costume for the kids, and she felt ridiculous in it. She tossed her hat on her desk and bent over, opening the bottom drawer and looking for a brush, intent on getting rid of the pigtails in her hair.

Draco had been watching and waiting for her to get somewhere a bit alone. He certainly wasn't doing this before an audience. He let the door to her office slam a bit and leaned back against it. With his costume, it was a good thing he was so cold-blooded. He didn't chill easily. And since he was wearing strategically placed leaves and that was about it, that was a good thing indeed. Draco took another bite of the apple in his hand as she jumped and looked at him.

He'd been admiring her costume all afternoon. It was even better up close and with no one else in the room. He smirked.

She was speechless. She'd been able to avoid him for a week now. She'd been so good about it, and here he was. In nothing. Next to nothing. Leaves. He was wearing leaves. She dropped the brush on the top of desk. Her head was screaming to hide, but that was a ridiculous thought, because there was no where in her office to hide, and anyway, he'd see her where ever she went. It was the look in his eyes. It was predatory and she felt like a rabbit for a second. She licked her suddenly dry lips and cleared her restricted throat. "Happy Halloween?"

"Not yet," Draco said smoothly. "I get the feeling I am being avoided, Ginny. That's not a good thing for a patient... being avoided by the doctor. Other than making you show me where you live, so that I know you arrived safely, have I done something wrong? You will notice I have not stopped by unannounced, despite wanting to."

She blinked. Had she been that obvious? She changed the topic. "What are you supposed to be?"

"I'm Adam," Draco said, as if that explained everything, before taking another bite of his apple. "It's a story. I liked it. Man and woman ran about naked in a garden. She had him eat smart fruit, and they realize they're naked. Terribly wonderful tale. About why we need clothes. They ran about in leaves after. Like I said, terribly gripping story. I was fascinated by it."

Ginny nodded. She wasn't sure why he'd felt compelled to run around in leaves, but she couldn't say it was surprising. She had been avoiding him. And she was going to continue to try. She swallowed, willing her eyes to stay focused on his face. "I'm glad you liked the story. It's a... neat... costume. Very fitting. Form. Form fitting and not form fitting because there's really not form to it at all. Not really." She bit her tongue and shook her head. "I have to get back out there. Can't let Blaise schmooze all the potential clients himself. It's bad for business." Like ogling his boyfriend. Who is smirking. And wearing leaves.

"Just a moment," Draco said, willing himself to stay calm. "There's a misconception you have that I never corrected, and I need to address it. Now."

"But I-"

"Blaise can handle it for a few more minutes," Draco said walking towards her slowly. "This I don't think can wait."

"What this?"

"This this," he whispered before leaning down and pressing his lips to hers softly.

Ginny's eyes stayed open, and widened, when he invaded her personal space. She froze, her brain not working correctly. This was... wonderful wrong inappropriate thrilling shocking gentle... wrong. She took a sharp intake a breath through her nose and took a step back, shaking her head. "I don't- why would- what do you-" Her brain was malfunctioning. Obviously. She was misunderstanding something here. Something large. Something with three heads that liked to growl and eat people who didn't understand what was going on.

She looked up at him, her eyebrows furrowing. "I don't understand."

"Don't you?" He asked, cocking his head to the side and smirking. "Perhaps I should explain it again."

He kissed her again. This time with a bit more insistence. One of his hands came to rest on her waist while the other took a perch on her collar, his thumb brushing over her hammering pulse.

Her hand flew up seemingly by itself, hitting his cheek with force. She took a step back at the same time, her mouth forming an 'o' of surprise. Her eyes widened when she realized what she had done. She watched as he brought a hand up and held it against his face. She could already see a little imprint of her hand there. Considering he was so pale, it stood out fairly well. There was a look in his eyes that both excited and scared her. She felt it thrill from her head to the tips of her toes. "What do you think you're doing?" Her voice was a little higher than it would be normally, but she was having trouble speaking. Or breathing. Or thinking whatsoever.

"This," Draco replied before curling his fingers around the front lacing on her costume and yanking her back towards him.

She smacked against his chest but didn't have much time to think on it. Draco had a hand curled around her chin and tilted her head back a bit before kissing her yet again. This time there was little about it that was gentle. Her put his other hand on the base of her spine to hold her to him. She'd been so surprised by this turn of events that her mouth had still been slightly open. He took full advantage of that.

Ginny's body was both melting into him and trying to get away from him. Her mind was battling with itself, having wanted this for quite a long time but also knowing it was never going to happen. But it is happening. His mostly naked body is pressing against you and that's his tongue in your mouth! And that's your tongue brushing against his! She sighed once, her hands pressing against his chest, before reality hit her again. She pushed against him with both hands, gasping when their bodies untangled. "But you're gay! You're with Blaise!"

"Am I?" Draco replied, smirking. "You know, I don't recall ever saying that. You just assumed, and I very wrongly let you believe it. That ends now. Blaise has a frightful crush on the biscuit girl dressed in the pink faerie costume."

"Why would- Blaise and you aren't- You're not gay?" She was going to faint. She actually reached behind herself and leaned against the desk. "I don't- why would you do that? Why would you let me think you were gay? Do you know how awful I felt? For Blaise? But he-" She shook her head, her eyes closing. I'm hallucinating. I ate too much candy. The sugar has done me in. I'm in sugar shock. He tasted like apple. I'm dreaming.

Why on earth would she feel bad for Blaise? Then Draco realized. It was because she had been entertaining thoughts of a not-so-pure nature about who she thought was Blaise's boyfriend. This made Draco extraordinarily happy.

"No, not gay. Sorry to disappoint. I do love B, like I adore no one else, I just do not... LOVE him. If we could get past the liking women so much, he and I would be a scorching couple. We're absolutely perfect for one another. I'm sorry you felt bad. I let you think it because I'm a selfish prat who wanted you to let your guard down a little. I wanted you to let me get away with saying and doing things I wouldn't normally be able to get away with."

Draco stepped into her personal space again.

"How comfortable would you be with me if you knew that this..." he put a hand on her leg just above her little striped stockings and started sliding it up slowly. "...was what I thought about with you all the time?" He leaned down while she was still in shock and started kissing her jawline. "Do you know why I can't hold still when you heal me? Because you're touching me. It's all completely wrong, and I did try to fight it for like a day, but I don't suspect I actually want to fight it, so here we go."

She recovered from the shock of the situation, her stomach no longer churning because he was touching her, but now churning with anger. She pushed against his chest again, her eyes narrowing at the smirk on his face. She pulled her arm back and could hear Harry's voice in her head. Don't aim for his jaw. Aim for a point on the other side of his body. Don't worry about how your hand will hurt. Don't worry about anything except putting your entire weight into it.

Her fist connected with the side of his face and she almost stumbled, she was so worried about following through. She gasped at how her hand immediately started throbbing. Her mouth was open and she gasping for air. "You fucking bastard!"

Draco staggered with the force of the punch, but he didn't lose his footing. Draco put a hand to his jaw, rubbing. She knew how to punch properly, that was for certain. She was very angry too, and she looked lovely when pissed off. He knew better than to say anything though. He just stood there with a wistful look on his face. He would have a bruise. He wouldn't hide it either. He'd wear it with pride.

Or perhaps he'd come back in a day or so and ask her to heal it.

He just stared at her with a smile on his face and let out a sigh that might have been a bit dreamy. No, he didn't suspect he was at all wrong for fancying her. No, not at all. He looked at her hand and frowned. He did hope she had not hurt herself.

He was smiling. The prat was smiling! She almost growled as she pointed to the door. "Get out." She did growl when he didn't move. "Get out! Get out! GET OUT!" She was fairly sure she hadn't needed to scream that loud. In fact, there were probably several people in the alley behind the clinic who were wondering what was going on, but she didn't care. Her emotions had been in turmoil for weeks because of him, and he was smiling at her like she'd just licked along his earlobe.

She actually took a step towards him, staring at his earlobe, before she stopped herself, stamping her foot. "Draco Malfoy, if you do not get out of my office this instant, I will hex you and I will make it hurt. It will not be foreplay. It will just be pain."

He should probably go. Draco started for the door. He paused in the doorway after opening it.

"You fascinate me, did you know?" He turned to face her. "There's nothing of you that I have seen that I have disliked."

Draco bowed at her slightly then ducked out of her office.

Ginny watched the door swing shut behind him. She stared at the door for a while before collapsing at her desk. She'd spent so much energy, so much willpower trying to ignore him, avoid him, and altogether not think of him. What was she supposed to do with this? How was she supposed to react? He'd all but lied to her, made her think things that weren't true. She'd been miserable after their dinner, feeling guilty about even thinking of him that way. She was angry and excited at the same time and the pair of emotions were making her stomach hurt.

What am I supposed to do now?

{SUMMARY} Ginny finds out Draco is most definitely NOT Blaise's boyfriend.
